These terms govern your use of thejamesridley.com and The Lab, the annual membership by James Ridley ("the Membership"). By using the website or purchasing the Membership you agree to them.
The Membership
The Lab is a digital annual membership ($84 per year). Your membership includes one year of access to The Method, The Tools (including the original member software and available materials), new member resources released during your active membership and The Network.
The membership fee covers one year of access. When your membership ends and is not renewed, access to all membership content and areas ends with it, including The Method, The Tools, the member materials and The Network. Renewing restores access.
Payments
Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. Lemon Squeezy is the seller of record for your transaction and handles payment processing, receipts, sales taxes and refunds under its own terms of service. Refunds are described in our refund terms.
License and acceptable use
- Your purchase grants one personal, non-transferable license to use the Membership materials.
- You may use the tools, code and templates included in the Membership in your own projects, personal or commercial.
- You may not resell, redistribute, publicly republish or share access to the Membership materials or the member community.
- You may not use the website or The Network to harass others, distribute malware or break the law.
Evolving materials
The Lab is an evolving membership. Lessons, materials and components may be refined over time, and member feedback influences future updates. The materials described on the website at the time of purchase will be delivered; their form may improve over time.
Disclaimers
- The Membership teaches how to build working products and prototypes. The goal is functional technology, not certified, production-ready or safety-critical products.
- Hardware work involves inherent risk. The materials include safety guidance, but you are responsible for working carefully and within your local regulations.
- Third-party costs (AI services, cloud services, hardware components) are not included and are governed by their own providers.
- Results depend on the scope and complexity of your idea, your available time and your willingness to troubleshoot. No specific outcome is guaranteed.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, James Ridley is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from use of the website or the Membership. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Membership.
Changes
These terms may be updated; the current version is always published on this page with its revision date. Material changes to what a purchase includes will not apply retroactively to completed purchases.
Refunds
If the Membership is not what you expected, email support@thejamesridley.com from the address used at checkout, with your order number, within 7 days of purchase. Approved refunds are issued by Lemon Squeezy to the original payment method; processing times depend on your bank or card issuer.
Access to the membership materials and The Network is removed when a refund is issued. Hardware, AI services and other third-party purchases are separate transactions with their own sellers and are not covered. We honor legitimate requests and may decline clear abuse, such as repeat purchase-and-refund cycles.
